A Village Hall Wedding in Keinton Mandeville, Somerset, for Mark and Lorraine
Updated: Apr 11
Lorraine and Mark chose to have an early spring wedding, when the weather is contrary and the blossom is just emerging. The weather was true to form and gave us rain, cloud, sunshine and a small, fleeting sunset. Lorraine spent the morning getting ready at her parent's house, surrounded by her loved ones. She was so relaxed and organised and was able to enjoy her wedding preparations, supported by her lovely mum and dad.
Her friend's helped her with elements of the day, such as her stunning cake, pretty makeup, and gorgeous bouquets using seasonal daffodils. She wore her grandmother's pearls which resulted in a few tears shed. Lorraine arrived at the church in style, having always wanted to be chauffeured in a rally car. I could hear the rumble of the engine through the walls of the house when it was moved to the driveway.
Mark and Lorraine were married at the gorgeous 13th century St Mary Magdalene Church. Their youngest daughter stole the show, choosing to stand at the front of the church with the vicar. The sun came out upon their departure from the church, smiling on them as they were congratulated by their loved ones, had their photos taken and had confetti thrown over them.
They then headed back to Keinton Mandeville Village Hall for food (prepared by Mark, Lorraine and their family), speeches, and then time spent relaxing and dancing to the fabulous music played by a live band.
This was a day that was precious and a joy to see unfold. Surrounded by their children, friends and family, Lorraine and Mark had a fantastic day. I loved capturing it for them and I felt more like a welcomed guest than their photographer.....I even had my own little table to eat at, decorated with a vase of daffodils! Thank you for choosing me as your photographer; it was a great day.
